New Year's Eve: Tourists in Our Own Town

Last year for new years, we whisked our kids away to Bellevue for a kid friendly new year's celebration.  This year, we decided to stick close to home and we played tourist in our own town.  We took the Canada Line downtown and stayed at the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel.

Upon checking into the hotel, we headed straight for the pool.

We started our evening with a celebratory dinner at Red Robin with a nice view of Robson Street.

After dinner, we headed to Robson Square to enjoy the outdoor performances and ring in the New Year.

The next morning, after another swim and a yummy breakfast, we headed back home.

Happy New Year from the Schwartz family.

  1. That is a perfect way to do something fun when you have a young family. Plus it is 'off season' in the city and you can get a nice hotel at a decent price. Win win! Love that! We packed up and headed out of town to a friends house. The kids built forts while the parents sipped bubbly beverages. Was casual and relaxed.
