We attended the annual Lantern Festival at our local community centre last Thursday. This is where Sarah went to pre-school and where Jack attends, so this has become quite an annual tradition. I love how rain or shine the crowds come out to join in the festivities and to take part in the entertainment. Familiar smiles, quick hellos and new faces who re-light a burned out lantern without blinking an eye. It is a nice reminder about the great community where we live.
There was drumming.
And face painting.
We loved the clown. He had a great sense of humor. Rick, "I was born in the circus" Dad was happy to help him as he scaled his giraffe unicycle and juggled knives.
Tattoos were pressed onto hands.
Balloon animals were walked and rested while dance moves were executed.
We left the festival with tired and crying children, but a happy heart.
Looks like fun one!
