Inspiration

Tonight I sat in Sarah's room waiting for her to fall asleep.  I had my computer out and was catching up on my Google Reader.  I came across Kelle Hampton's latest post.  She included a quote in her post tonight that spoke to me so clearly that I wrote it down immediately.

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs.  Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.  Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."  -Dr. Howard Thurman

The quote and her post had me thinking about the things in my life that inspire me and make me come alive:

1.  my kids-  They inspire me to be better and enjoy what we have.

2.  teaching-  I love what I do and absolutely love working with kids.

3.  Captain Canada- He is always positive and good at letting things go.  He is also very talented.

4.  writing-  My blog helps me put things in perspective and is a creative outlet.

5.  exercise-  It amazes me what I come up with while working up a good sweat.

6.  fresh air-  Being outside makes me appreciate where I live and inspires me to do more outside.

7.  my craft group-  I admire and am inspired by each lady in the group and all for different reasons.

8. sunsets-  There is nothing like a beautiful sunset to get those creative juices flowing.

9.  Kelle Hampton-  Every time I read her blog, I am inspired in a different way.

10.  books-  I love reading and stories that move me, inspire me.

What inspires you?

  1. We like similar things. Could it be because we're teachers with cute kids and good husbands? Lol

  2. Breathing in fresh air and being outside definitely does it for me too. It is amazing how much more time we spend outside now that we have kids.

  4. Lovely Lisa! Being outside, looking at things around me, taking photos inspires me. Seeing my son turning into a boy and one day a man makes me strive to be the best I can be. My dog's unconditional love inspires me to show emotions. All of you ladies inspires me to be a woman who you want to call a friend. Husbands love makes me happy.
We have a lot in common. And thank you for asking, I enjoyed writing this comment.

  7. We have lots of these in common: helping children reach their potential, my kid, sunsets, writing, martial arts, taking pictures, looking at others' photos, reading, and, at the risk of sounding a teeny bit shallow, shopping!

  8. Ah yes, inspiration. It comes from all sorts of places doesn't it? My kid is a big source for me too!

Going to check out Kellie's blog. She sounds great!
